my son who was diagnosed when he was 6yrs. old is now 20. he has had the desease in both hips. we took him to the scottish rite hospital in dallas,tx for treatment , but they said there was nothing they could do, that it would just have to run it's course. i was young an inexperienced with doctors then, so i believed them and just tried to keep my son from making it any worse with his rough extreme activeness.
in the last couple of years it appears that the leg that last had the desease has stopped growing at the same speed that his other leg is growing.recently it has been very noticeable. it's not just shorter, but smaller in size. thigh, knee, calve, foot.
has anyone encountered this? can anything be done?
thanks in advance for your help. i have searched and searched for anything related to this topic for awhile now. so glad i found y'all.
