My son was diagnosed december 2003 with significant bone loss. Since then he has experience almost complete collapse of the head. We will be scheduling his surgery for June. Has anybody else seen a good prognosis with 80% loss? His surgery is for containment, he shows definate problems with it.
He does have good range of motion and his bone age is much younger than 9, more like 6 or 7 years.
His x-rays also show some loss in the femur itself, obvious translucency. The surgeon tells me this is a problem but won't tell me how much of one.
Any comments?
