My son will be 3 in May and was diagnosed last September after slipping and falling. We are also on the wait and see approach and are monitoring every several months w/ xrays and checking his range of motion. From what I have been reading/hearing, this is usually the approach at first, especially for someone so young. I have been told that since the onset is at such a young age, that he should make a full recovery w/out possibly having to have a brace, surgery, etc. Definately get a second opinion and see what that second opinion's course of action would be. If both doctor's opinions differ as to the course of action, get a third opinion. Good Luck!!! Amybeth
: My son is 2 1/2 years old and has been complaining of knee pain for a least six months. It was said to be growing pains. He has been complaining more and so we took him to a local orthopedic doctor who find it. He seen a pediatric orthopedist yesterday and he wants to take a wait and see approach. My son is very active. Is this normal treatment?
