My Grandfather had LP when he was a child, though they really didn't know what it was until it was way too late. He was born in 1899 and had it somewhere around the same age as I, 5-9 or so. I have seen many case studies where it is said as Gary mentioned that it is not said to be passed down from generation to generation, though is frequently found to be more common in some family lines. In my family (my Mothers side) she had 8 brothers and sisters and I have over 30 cousins with myself and Grandfather the only ones affected by LP.
