I used the "Perthes sling" which allows ROM and eliminates weight bearing. With this I was on crutches with the sling over 3 years but never had to have surgical treatment. My case was diagnosed early and no significant damage had occured yet so it worked very well even with my severe case. A sure alternative to surgery if not required.
